Dr David A., Auckland

Last thing today we had the CEO and the Production Manager and the Project Manager onboard all using the Vantage system in the starboard cabin successfully. The smile on there faces was amazing and I got asked how the hell I managed to get the system running so far ahead of schedule and so far ahead of every other department. So I told them forward planning and being able to trust who your working with. I really do appreciate the effort that’s been put in here, you guys have an amazing attitude and are a real pleasure to work with, so thanks

Lee N., New Plymouth

It has been a long and painstaking process but throughout Romesh has gone out of his way to understand the gap between what I had and what I wanted and has never lost patience or passion for my project. The net result is that I now have a system that is simple but sounds glorious.

I do not know of another retailer who displays the passion and commitment that Romesh and his team do. They love music and its reproduction and they live and breathe their work.

Chris D., Auckland

Congratulations on a top team based in Hamilton as I consider their efforts above and beyond the call of professionalism.

Kevin Kelly, Te Awamutu

Hard drive is here!

The new Pioneer DVR520H would have to be the most exciting piece of new technology we've seen in a long time. It combines an 80GB Hard drive with a DVD recorder. The Hard drive offers a whopping 102 hours of recording time, while the DVD recorder will let you make your own DVDs. No more washed out low quality home movies, and your favourite TV programs will look as good in ten years time as they do now.
Hard drive also offers a level of flexibility & convenience unheard of from video tape.

Imagine you're watching your favourite program. The phone rings, you hit record on the hard drive. Five minutes later you're off the phone. With a normal VCR you'd have to wait till the end of the program and rewind the tape before you could enjoy the rest of your program. With Hard drive you simply resume watching from where you left off while the hard drive is still recording the end of the program for you!
You can even simultaneously record one program while watching another

Special introductory offer

Purchase the Pioneer DVR520H at $1599 and receive 10 DVD recordable disks worth $100 absolutely FREE.

Also available is the DVR320H. This is essentially the same as the DVR520H but without the Hard Drive. $799

Get closer to the action.

Remember the scene in the original Jurassic Park, when all the Land Rovers sputtered and stalled during the park tour? The rain was drumming hard on the roofs of the vehicles and the tension began to rise. Slowly, the camera zoomed onto the surface of a still glass of water, and the surface began to ripple.
Here, Spielberg was trying to give the sense of something big about to happen. Because he was unable to shake the theatre floor, he used the next best thing: a visual effect of water rippling.

However, suppose he could shake the entire theatre floor, and shake it the way a nearby 20-ton stomping T-Rex would. That would raise a few goose bumps, would it not? Well, maybe the local theatre can't do it, but you can at home with a set of Tactile Transducers.

Tactile transducers allow you to "feel" sound as well as hear it.

Most people don't realize that our ears are only one of the ways we "hear"? There are in fact five mechanisms that combine to give us our perception of sound:

  1. Hearing Via Air Transmission
The primary way we perceive acoustic energy is through our ears. Vibrating air molecules enter the ear canal and push against the eardrum.
  2. Feeling Via Deep Tissue Movement
This sense is called "kinesthetic." These kinesthetic sensations are the gut feelings that occur when ground near us is excited.
  3. Feeling Via Skeletal Joint Movement
Vibration in the ground or objects near us also stimulates nerve endings in our skeletal joints and deep tissues. This sense is called "haptic."
  4. Feeling Via Tactile Stimulation
Vibrations in the ground beneath us or any surface we are in contact with also stimulates nerve endings just under the outer layer of your skin. This is our sense of touch.
  5. Feeling Via Bone Conduction
Where sound waves reach the inner ear directly through the bone mass itself.

clark-sysntesis-tactile.jpgAll of these stimuli combine to give us our perception of a live acoustic event. However most speaker systems will only stimulate the first of these mechanisms. This is why hearing a gun shot, a double bass, or a rock concert live is so different from hearing one reproduced on a conventional sound system.

Introducing Clark Synthesis Tactile Transducers.

By complementing a conventional speaker system which can only reproduce the first hearing stimulii, with a tactile transducer which can reproduce the other four "tactile" stimulii a dramatic improvement in impact, realism, and involvement can be made. Clark Synthesis is the only company in the world to produce a full range tactile sound transducer.

With prices ranging from $399 to $1999 Clark Synthesis Tactile Transducers are by far the best value and most dramatic improvement you can make to any good home theatre system.
