B & W CT8 CC Custom Theatre Center Speaker
|
The CT8 CC borrows its Nautilus™ inspired driver line-up from the CT8 LR front speaker. The same Rohacell® bass drivers, woven Kevlar® FST™ midrange driver and metal dome high frequency driver are employed, but arranged with the twin bass drivers positioned either side of the combined midrange and high frequency pod. This arrangement ensures dispersion is not compromised by landscape enclosure proportions - often the case with centre speakers. The CT8 CC, like the CT8 LR, is semi-active with driver integration managed by the CT8 XO active crossover/equaliser.
The CT8 CC midrange and high frequency drivers are held in a super-rigid spherical pod that incorporates Nautilus™ derived tube loading, cleverly curled-up for compactness. As with the complementary CT8 LR, the pod orientation is adjustable for perfect alignment with the listening area. The main enclosure housing the bass drivers is Matrix™ braced to provide a solid system foundation, and plays accurate, dynamic bass down to 23Hz, well into subwoofer territory.
